A Skelmersdale United academy player has allegedly been racially abused during a youth team fixture.
The incident comes two weeks after Skelmersdale’s Head of Academy Darren Wildman was charged by Liverpool County FA for removing players from the pitch after claiming one was allegedly subjected to homophobic abuse.
Blueboys’ Secretary Dan Roberts told Merserysportlive: “A player was dismissed for alleged racist abuse towards one of our players in a youth fixture yesterday (October 17) and the game was subsequently abandoned by the referee.
“This is a matter for the footballing authorities to deal with and we shall support them in this.”
So a game abandoned due to a disgusting racial slur towards our player. This time the ref took control and called the game. Every credit to him.
But what is going on in football lately
