Tranmere will be hoping to make it five league wins on the bounce this evening as they take on Crewe under the Penton Parks lights.
A win for Rovers will move them into a play-off place which will continue to boost the already rising morale of the squad.
Holding the joint best defensive record in the league, Micky Mellon’s men will be looking to remain solid at the back and make Prenton Park a fortress. A Friday night kick-off will guarantee a rocking atmosphere and the fans will to their part to make it tough for the visitors.
Rovers boss Mellon is enthusiastic about the Friday evening kick off slot and knows what this fixture can bring: “The players love Friday nights, it’s always a special atmosphere at Prenton Park,” he said.
“Crewe will bring a good support as well, so it should make for a fantastic atmosphere. We’re really looking forward to it”.
Mellon confirmed the return of Tom Davies from injury: “He will probably come back onto the grass next week. So that’s another experienced player back into the group, and long may that continue”.
The centre half pairing of Jordan Turnbull and Southampton loanee, Dynel Simeu have been crucial to Tranmere’s eight clean sheets this season. The two have made it tough for every side they’ve faced this season, only conceding two shots on target in the last two showings.
Crewe will be aiming to put an end to the Super White Army’s winning streak and reignite some form of their own. The Railwaymen’s main issue recently has been drawing games, with three of their last five games ending without a winner.
Alex Morris’ side have also struggled away this season, so facing an inform team in a Friday night fixture could prove challenging.

🎥 "It's a challenge, an atmosphere, and an environment that I'm looking forward to seeing how our players respond to."
