Peter McGrail is all set for Saturday’s bout against Alexander Espinoza as he looks to continue his 100% record as he makes his way up the rankings of the super bantamweight division.

McGrail comes into the fight at Liverpool’s Eventim Olympia looking to land his fourth KO victory in a row as he continues to make waves in the professional division following his step-up from amateur in 2021. The recognition for the scouse southpaw has been growing since moving up to pro after recording 45 wins in the amateur ranks.

McGrail headlines Probellum’s return in Liverpool

The name ‘Peter McGrail’ began to pick up traction after a Commonwealth gold medal in 2018 following on from his win at the European Championships in 2017. The fighter has since represented England at the Olympic games in Tokyo 2020. He will look to show this weekend why the hype around his entrance to the pro ranks just over a year ago was justified.

The fight will be the Liverpudlian’s first 10 round bout, however he is expecting a devastating victory early doors. His opponent, Nicaragua’s Espinoza, last fought in the UK at the Copper Box arena in London. He suffered a unanimous decision loss against Glaswegian Ukashir Farooq, but was able to seriously damage the Scot leaving him with cuts around both eyes.

‘Supernova’ Espinoza is expected to be one of McGrail’s toughest fights to date. The South American already has 28 professional fights under his belt and has recorded only four losses during that time. With most of his previous wins being on points, Alexander will be looking to target the ‘Scouse Lomachenko’s’ inexperience as a pro and take him deep into the fight, with McGrail’s previous three wins all coming inside the first four rounds.

The hometown fighter can rely on support from his city with the Eventim Olympia already sold-out for the former amateur phenomena’s first headline fight. It will be Probellum’s first show since April and the fight between Jazza Dickens and Lerato Dlamini has been penned in to co-main event McGrail’s fight.
