The new 3G facility at the Marine Travel Arena has become a huge success on and off the pitch.
The club invested £500,000 into the new facility last summer and the results have been fantastic. Not only does this allow Marine to play week in week out on an immaculate surface, but the club has also begun to host events on the pitch including children’s coaching and soccer camps. The Marine women’s team and North West Counties side AFC Liverpool are also using the ground for matches.
The Mariners have only lost once at home all season, averaging over 1000 spectators every game.
The club’s fans appreciate the work being performed behind the scenes to give the Crosby side every chance of pushing closer to the top of the Northern Premier League.
Mersey Sport Live’s Tom Wardle spoke to manager Neil Young and CEO James Leary about how the new surface is helping to transform the club’s fortunes. Watch below.
