Teams from across Merseyside came together to deliver an important message at the Liverpool Homeless FC’s Breast Cancer Awareness Cup. Get lumps checked early.
Club CEO, John Finnigan spoke to Mersey Sport Live about the women the club works with and why awareness needed to be raised for those who do not have access to the NHS.
The event was also graced by award-winning actress and comedian, Crissy Rock who told the heartbreaking story of her sister-in-law who died of breast cancer just four days after her 41st birthday and planned her own funeral.
Rock said: “When we say funeral, the first three letters are fun and that’s what she was.”
The actress gave medals to every team that competed with AFC Warner Colts overall tournament winners.
