Liverpool manager Arne Slot reflected on the draw with Man Utd as he prepares for their Carabao Cup semi-final at Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw at Anfield by Ruben Amorim’s side and defender Trent Alexander-Arnold drew criticism from some for his performance.

Slot told the media today: “He [Trent] didn’t play his best game, but it’s not the first time in his life.

“If they play really well, nobody talks about contract situations.

“I don’t concentrate on social media posts. If you do that as a Liverpool manager you have no life!”

Slot also provided a positive player fitness update ahead of the first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He added: “Almost all of them are fit.”

The Reds, defending their league cup crown, come into the match as strong favourites.

Winger Cody Gakpo is currently joined top goalscorer in the competition, with four goals.

The Liverpool boss also spoke on the January transfer market: “We always look at the market.

“If there’s a chance, this club always brings something in.

“I have decided the whole line up already!”

Spurs have won just one game in their last five, whereas Liverpool have won four in their last five.

That included Liverpool thumping Spurs 3-6 in London in the league just before Christmas.

However, Slot added: “Large parts of the game two weeks ago we could show our identity, but they showed how good of a team they are.”
