A new look Marine will make the long trip down to Norfolk tomorrow where they will face off against high flying King’s Lynn Town.
After a two week break the National League North side return to league action where three new Marine signings are set to make their debuts.
Andy Scarisbrick has returned to the club after spells at Prescot Cables and Bootle alongside the one month loan signings of Lewis Bell from Blackburn and Kaedyn Kamara from Preston.
Manager Neil Young said: “If you look at the lads we brought in, we’ve seen Kaedyn before so we know a lot about him, Lewis Bell is obviously another attacking threat, he gives us that option with pace in wide areas.
“Andy Scarisbrick, we know what he can do we needed another threat, someone who knows that running 10 position quite well. He does that and most of its around availability and who we can bring to the football club.”
Young’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat last time out against tomorrow’s opponents after a disputed free kick was awarded to King’s Lynn late on, resulting in a 79th minute winner.
The Mariners will be looking to jump out of the relegation zone with a win that would see the team winning back to back games for the first time this season.
Both teams are coming into the game after a week’s break due to several fixtures falling victim to the freezing conditions.
An impressive 2-0 win against fellow strugglers Warrington Town boosted morale in the camp and Young is hoping the long break won’t affect the team drastically.
Young said: “I don’t think we will know if the break will affect us until we play tomorrow. I think after Warrington a break at that time was probably good for us all, a bit of a reset for us all because at Christmas as a management team you don’t get too much time to yourself.
“From my perspective it is going to be a tough game, I think they’re second or third in the league. We know quite a bit about them, they’ve got a few ex Marine players in their ranks.
“We’ve got to turn up and apart from maybe once this season we’ve turned up, we have got to be good in those key times in games and we can’t switch off we’ve got to be on in from minute one from whenever the game finishes.”
Kick off is at 3pm on Saturday.
