Marine 3-1 Rushall Olympic (11/2/25)

Marine beat fellow strugglers Rushall Olympic 3-1 to lift them out of the relegation zone.

A late flurry of goals began after substitute Sinclair-Smith converted a penalty on 80 minutes for the home side.

Owen Robinson then doubled the Mariners lead converting from close range following pinball inside the box.

Solihull Moors loanee Kian Ryley pulled one back for the away side in the 93rd minute after his half-volley caught the onrushing Max Metcalfe out.

Substitute Sinclair-Smith was there again however to spare the home sides blushes, pouncing on a poor pass back from the Rushall defender to secure his brace.

Marine boss Neil Young said after the game: “I thought after the penalty we were good value for the lead.

“The main thing was we got the result after a run of four away games, which is never easy on the fans or the players.

“When you’re down the bottom it’s easy to lack confidence, but I can never say any of the players lack fight and they showed that today.

“We’ve played better than we have today and lost, but we kept going and the main thing is we got the three points.”

Radcliffe 4-1 Southport (8/2/25)

Two goals in each half for the home side saw Radcliffe beat Southport 4-1.

The Boro opened the scoring just five minutes in through a long range effort from midfielder Tom Walker.

The home side then doubled their lead on 14 minutes after former Southport player Brad Jackson’s deflected effort beat the helpless Chris Renshaw.

Danny Greenfield then netted straight after the break to make it 3-0 to Radcliffe.

Luca Navarro ended any chance of a comeback on 72 minutes after his superb lob beat Renshaw from 18 yards.

Substitute Dior Angus pulled one back for the away side on 81 minutes, but it wasn’t enough and sent the large Southport following home with an afternoon to forget.

Manager Jim Bentley said after the game: “I’m angry at the minute, especially after the good win against Alfreton.

“When you find yourself 1-0 down so early on you give them a leg up. The crowd fed off that early energy.

“Then at 2-0 away from home it becomes difficult. We come out the second half with a different shape and kicking downhill hoping to turn it around.

“To concede so quickly after the break and be 3-0 down away from home to a crowd who get behind them, it’s difficult.

“Ultimately, they got their nose in front and always looked like they had that extra yard. I apologise to the away support because we never want to come away from home and lose in the manner we did.

“We need bodies back to give us that bit more, but regardless we’ve got to be better. We’ll work on it and expect a response next Saturday.”
