Neal Skupski and partner Wesley Koolhof retained the World Number 1 ranking after moving into the Indian Wells men’s doubles quarterfinals.
They defeated Germany’s Olympic champion Alexander Zverev and Marcelo Melo 6-3 6-1 in the first round.
The pair received a walkover from American Frances Tiafoe and Switzerland’s Stan Wawrinka, who withdrew from their second round match.
Second seeded Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram were in contention for the Number 1 Ranking. They were upset in the first round by Grigor Dimitrov and Hubert Hurkacz.
They will now face Britain’s Jamie Murray and New Zealand’s Michael Venus for a spot in the semi-finals.

Former champion and 10th seed Cameron Norrie moved into his third successive Indian Wells quarterfinal, dispatching 6th seed Andrey Rublev 6-2 6-4.
Norrie, 27, looks to continue his excellent form, with one title at the Rio Open and three finals already this season.
He will face 14th seed Frances Tiafoe who defeated Chilean qualifier Alejandro Tabilo in straight sets 6-4 6-4.
Carlos Alcaraz is into the quarterfinals after Britain’s Jack Draper retired 6-2 2-0 down.
Emma Raducanu lost out to World Number 1 Iga Swiatek in straight sets 6-3 6-1.
Raducanu, 20, defeated Danka Kovinic, Magda Linette and Beatriz Haddad Maia to reach the fourth round.
The quarterfinals continue today with Norrie and Skupski in action from 18:00 GMT on Amazon Prime.
