Located in Dingle, South Liverpool, The Merseyside Collective are a social football club dedicated to supporting both the local community and important initiatives further afield.
The group organises weekend matches at the Shaun Standish Playing Fields (or Stanyfields) on Dingle Vale, with both men and women’s games raising money for good causes.
For the men’s games on Sunday, running from 12-2pm, players’ £9 entrance fee has so far been directed to ecological projects such as the Friends of St. Michael’s Station and Ecologi, a global reforestation initiative.
On Monday, all-inclusive women’s matches are also held for a £6 playing fee, which has been used to help the Parish of Dingle’s efforts to tackle food poverty in the local area.
