Prescot Cables FC have been awarded £10,000 worth of building materials following a successful application to the Buildbase Non-league Club Renovation Programme. The club were chosen, along with nine other clubs who compete in the Buildbase FA Trophy and Vase competitions, by judges from Buildbase and the FA.

Many non league fixtures across Merseyside fell victim to the rain and high winds of Storm Eunice over the weekend. Second-placed Marine's home tie against Clitheroe in the Northern Premier League West was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The match, which sold out well in advance, was the first league meeting between the sides for 70 years and lived up to expectations, for the visiting supporters at least, as Bootle stunned The Mariners by scoring three without reply.
