A Liverpool resident is searching for golf success in the United States after enduring his first year of a scholarship, and is now hoping for pro success. Jenson Finn, 19, moved to Alabama in the summer of 2021 for his placement at Spring Hill College.

Southport’s Tommy Fleetwood competes in the new double’s tournament Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Thursday. Fleetwood is partnered with former Masters champion Sergio Garcia and will take on other high-profile golfers such as current World Number One Scottie Scheffler.

American golf star Phil Mickelson says most of the World's top 100 players - including Southport's Tommy Fleetwood - have been approached to participate in a Saudi-backed Super League.  Fleetwood is currently 46 in the world and could well be one of the players who has been approached.
