Tottenham Hotspur have re-signed keeper Michel Vorm just three months after releasing him for free.
The signing comes after Hugo Lloris’ horrific injury in a defeat against Brighton earlier this month. The Dutchman was let go from the London club in the summer when his contract expired.
After the injury, Spurs were left with only one senior Keeper in the squad, Paulo Gazzaniga, and have handed Vorm a one-year deal to provide depth.
The shot-stopper only played 13 league games for Spurs in his first five-year spell but will now replace the club captain, who is not expected to return to training until January.
This surprise signing has added increased pressure to a Pochettino side that currently sit ninth in the league.
The first test for the keeper could come this week when Tottenham host bottom of the league Watford on Saturday.
