Lower Breck of the North West Counties Football League defeated Prescot Cables of the Northern Premier League 4-1 to make it through to the semi-finals of the Senior Cup.
The Cables sit two steps above Breck in the English Football League pyramid, so it came as quite the surprise when the visitors found themselves 3-1 down at half time.

Lower Breck played the last 15 minutes of regular time with 10 men after Jordan Barrow revived a red card.
The home side found the opener just 13 minutes into the first half thanks to Tom Croughan but their lead only lasted four minutes as Edy Maieco found the equaliser.
Breck re-established their lead when Samuel Burns scored in the 30th minute.
Elliot Hughes then grabbed another for the Anfield side on the brink of half-time to make it 3-1.
The fourth goal came from Connor Millington 10 minutes before Jordan Barrow was dismissed. Though this had no effect on the result, the midfielder will miss the crucial semi-final clash.
Another excellent team performance from the lads tonight and more than good value for the win, most pleasing for me was when we went down to ten men with the quality and composure on the ball first class…👌🏻

“I think you’ve got to give massive credit to them, we didn’t even show up so for that we’ll apologise to the fans. That wasn’t good enough on our behalf.
“We dust ourselves down and we go again on Saturday for a massive game.
“They were better in every department and you’ve got to hold your hands up, we were beaten by a better team tonight, they deserved it.”
Breck will hope to continue their goal scoring form as they head to Longridge Town and hope to keep the pressure on those above them.
Next up we travel to @LongridgeTownFC on Saturday afternoon as we look to back tonight up and keep the pressure on those above us in the table…we hope you can come join us…👌🏻
