Connor Jennings celebrated his 250th appearance for Tranmere Rovers when they took on Notts County last weekend.
Jennings made the switch from to Tranmere from local rivals Wrexham in 2016.
He has been involved in three Wembley finals for the club, and scored a goal in the 119th minute to send the club to League One.
“This is Tranmere” host Paul Harper said this was his favourite Jennings moment and it was meant to be.
He said: “Of all the people to play such an important part in our rise back up the divisions, it was fitting that he scored the winner.”
He would leave Tranmere ahead of the 2020-21 season, as he joined Stockport County.
After a short stint with Hartlepool United in between, he returned to the club in July 2023.
Mr Harper believes Jennings is now truly a legend of the club.
“The word legend is bandied about a lot, but Connor has given the club a lot and been a huge part of the success.
“He always plays with his heart for the badge and has been a tremendous player for us, scoring and creating important goals and deserves all the accolades that come his way.”
Time running out
His contract comes to an end at the club in the summer of 2025.
However, Mr Harper believes Jennings can lead the team in this tricky period.
“I think he could play a big role in helping the team survive this season.
“A great player and a great person.”
With just 13 games left of the season, Tranmere sit two points above the relegation zone.
Tranmere fans will be hoping the experience of Jennings can lead them to safety after what has been a tricky campaign.
