An impressive display from Liverpool saw them top their Champions League Group B with two games to spare.
The Reds cruised to a 2-0 win in another exciting encounter at Anfield against Atletico Madrid.
Goals from Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane were enough to see off 10-man Madrid, and Liverpool progress to the last 16 knockout round as group winners.
Liverpool started the game on top with multiple chances and sustained dominance in the first-half.
They carved out a few early chances but could not apply the finishing touch.
Jota then secured the breakthrough as he headed home from close range on 13 minutes.
Trent Alexander-Arnold attacked down the right-hand-side and crossed the ball onto the Portuguese winger’s head.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had an impressive game gliding through midfield and constantly trying to feed his forwards.
His runs through midfield continually caused Rodrigo De Paul and Koke problems and drove his team forward into Atletico’s half.
Liverpool continued their domination.
And it paid off as Alexander-Arnold put a lovely through-ball into Mane on 21 minutes and he tapped home from inside the six-yard box to double the lead.
More chances fell for Liverpool through Oxlade-Chamberlain and Salah who both had energetic games providing fans with plenty of excitement.
Atletico’s night got worse as centre-back Felipe was shown a red card in the 36th minute.
His sending off was for a combination of a poor tackle and shunning the referee.
He trudged off the pitched and was ignored by manager Diego Simeone as elated Liverpool fans jeered “Adios”.
Not long after this, Mane nearly saw a second yellow for a scuffle in midfield but instead it was Koke who saw yellow and Mane received a stern talking to by his captain.
The second-half started much the same as the first with Liverpool dominating the ball and chances.
Within five minutes, Jota had the ball in the back of the net.
It was ruled out however as the Portuguese had just crept a few inches offside.
Atletico also had a goal from Luis Suarez ruled out by VAR for offside.
