Litherland REMYCA defeated Bury FC to continue their impressive home form with a 3-1 victory.

Going into the match, Bury were third in the table, trailing league leaders Ramsbottom United by five points with three games in hand.

As for the hosts, REMYCA were in 16th position, but with a recent upturn in form with three wins from their last four matches.

Following the match, Bury manager Dave McNabb gave his post match thoughts:

“I thought the performance from start to finish was an absolute disgrace, I don’t want to take anything away from REMYCA, they were amazing but we embarrassed ourselves.

“We allowed ourselves to be outfought and outbattled and it’s simply not good enough and will not be accepted.”

McNabb also offered his apologies to the 250 Bury fans who made the journey to watch the game: “To the fans, I can only really apologise to them. The only word I can say is sorry and I can promise you it won’t be happening again.”

Home form has been key to REMYCA’s recent success and manager Luke Denson referenced this afterwards.

He said: “Here [at home] I honestly fancy us against anyone, we’ve made it a really tough place to come.

“Honestly the lads one to 11, as well as the subs who came on, were brilliant today and gave us everything asked from us and we’ve scored three great goals.

“We got what we deserved, we didn’t look in trouble against a top top team.”

Carrying on this momentum is something Denson is looking for his players to do in their upcoming busy schedule.

He said: “I’m just so proud of the lads and hopefully we can go into Saturday and can kick on now from this.”
