Horse welfare changes for Grand National as new whip rules ditched

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) says it will conduct enhanced Grand National welfare checks, despite failing in a bid to enforce landmark ‘whip’ regulations. Pre-race day veterinary protocols will begin this week ahead of the 175th running of the Aintree race in Liverpool on April 15.
