Andre Gomes has undergone surgery following his horror injury in yesterday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Everton, the midfielder went through surgery this morning to repair a fracture dislocation to his right ankle, with the procedure reportedly going ‘extremely well’. They added that after his initial recovery in hospital, Gomes would return to Finch Farm to undergo his full rehabilitation. It is not yet known when he will return to full fitness.
The Portuguese national has received widespread support following his injury, with many fellow players tweeting their sympathies. Toffee’s left-back, Lucas Digne, tweeted: “My brother everybody is with you. I know you are a beast and you will come back stronger!”.
