Liverpool’s Paddy Pimblett is set to prepare for a new face after his previous opponent has been pulled from CW113 due to fears surrounding the spreading of the Coronavirus.

His previously scheduled opponent Davide Martinez initially replaced Donovan Desmae who pulled out of the contest last month due to personal reasons.

Martinez joins fellow Italians Danilo Belluardo and Davide Baneschi who have also been removed from the card, leaving Mason Jones and Cory Tait without opponents for now.

With the Italian Government putting the country on shutdown due to the widespread virus, the possibility of the trio coming over to London was seemingly deemed too risk worthy.

It seems as if the Next Generation MMA fighter cannot catch a break with recent injuries and opponent pullouts delaying his return back to the sport.

However, Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan provided some positive news late on Tuesday night as he confirmed the promotion has found new opponents for Mason Jones and one other as they continue to work on the last.

It isn’t clear as of yet whether Pimblett is the other fighter who has been rematched, but things seem positive that he will fight at the event on March 20th in the O2’s Indigo.

UFC London will follow CW113 the night after in what should be a memorable night for the sport’s history in the UK.

The absence of Pimblett would sure to make for a disappointing turn, but all signs point towards him still competing at the moment.
