Tranmere Rovers survived late comeback efforts from Neil Critchley’s Blackpool.

Rovers now make it three wins in a row in the league.

First Half

The visitors started off impressively as Kieron Morris saw his low shot go inches wide of the post.

Morris was making a menace of himself in the 20th minute as his freekick was nodded down only for Morgan Ferrier to volley it over the bar.

Nathan Delfouneso had a header skim the bar as the hosts looked to take the lead.

Rovers would be the ones to take the lead as Morgan Ferrier heads home a brilliant cross from Calum Woods.

Tranmere would double their lead in added time as James Vaughan scored his third goal in his last five games.

Second Half

Blackpool where able to half the deficit in the 58th as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall curled a lovely effort from 25-yards out into Davies’ bottom corner.

Scott Davies was called into action straight away when he tipped Connor Ronan’s shot onto the post.

Rovers came under considerable pressure in the last 20 minutes. Liam Feeney missed the chance to equalise as he blasted his shot over the bar.

Micky Mellon’s side were able to hold onto all three points at the end though.

League Table

Tranmere remain in the relegation zone but are now only three points behind Wimbledon and Rovers have a game in hand.
