Uefa have confirmed that Euro 2020 will be postponed by a year. This is to allow European Leagues more time to complete their domestic campaigns.

Euro 2020 was set to begin on the 12th June, but the global pandemic means this is no longer possible.

The decision comes after UEFA held talks with it’s 55 associated members.

This may prove to be good news for Liverpool. The news makes it increasingly unlikely this Premier League season will be null and void.

However, it is still unclear as to when it will be safe for football to restart in this country.

There is a still a chance however, of the Premier League trophy being lifted in an empty stadium.

The World Heath Organisation says that Europe is now the epicentre of the pandemic, which has seen more than 169,000 people infected globally.

Projections suggest the summer may have come and gone before it is safe to get back to normality, with some experts suggesting covid-19 may not reach its peak until next spring.
