Luck really hasn’t been on the side of Liverpool this summer, with yet another positive corona test.
Reports from Guinea state that Liverpool midfielder, Naby Keita has gone into self-isolation after testing positive for the virus while on international duty.
The news is yet to be confirmed by Liverpool FC but if all is correct, the 25-year-old will miss out on Saturdays Merseyside derby.
With 3 other stars in the Liverpool squad including Thiago Alcantara, Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri all testing positive with the virus in the last couple of weeks, this is yet another COVID-19 inconvenience for the reds.
Both Thiago and Mane missed out on Liverpool’s shock defeat to Aston Villa last weekend where the Premier League champions were on the receiving end of a 7-2 thrashing.
The pair however should be ready for the upcoming derby, giving both the team and the fans a lot of encouragement.
Liverpool also await the return of Shaqiri who has made his return back to the Switzerland team after receiving a positive test last week.
The Liverpool winger was removed off the quarantine list after he received a negative result in Switzerland. He was involved in Switzerland’s 1-0 defeat to Spain on Saturday night, coming off the bench.
With the returning of some of Liverpool’s biggest stars, the reds will be looking to bounce back from their defeat at Villa Park with 3 points this Saturday.
