Southport FC will look to get their playoff push back on track this Saturday when they travel to Alfreton Town in the Vanarama National League North.
Southport have failed to win in their last four games after a strong start to 2022 which saw them shoot up the table into the playoff positions.
Whilst they remain in 6th place and well in the hunt for promotion via the playoffs, it is important Southport get their season back on track against an Alfreton side lingering in midtable.
Southport’s form has dipped after a well-earned draw with second-placed Brackley Town, including a painful defeat to promotion rivals Chorley and an underwhelming defeat to Darlington last night.

Therefore, a return to form is needed for Liam Watson’s side as they move into their final 10 league games.
It is now up to the players to make sure their season doesn’t end after those 10 games are played because as we know, the playoffs have a unique unpredictability.
