The European giants will go head to head this weekend in a charity match where former ‘legends’ of the clubs will battle it out at Anfield.

Two years after the match was postponed due to the pandemic, the game will finally take place with all money raised going towards the LFC and Barca foundations.

The Liverpool foundation has a variety of projects that will receive funds from the event.

The health and wellbeing, employability and training programmes, which assemble a vital part of the charity’s Covid-19 recovery support work, will hugely benefit from the fixture.

Cheif Executive of LFC foundation, Matt Parish said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Anfield for our first charity match in three years.”

“The Legends charity match is our principal fundraiser, and the proceeds raised make a huge difference to the work both we and our charity partners provide supporting children, young people, families and communities across Merseyside and beyond.”

It is set to be an entertaining afternoon at Anfield with an array of talent on show.

Liverpool welcome back past stars including Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Steve Mamanaman.

Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush return as part of the management team for The Reds.

Barcelona will bring 21 of their own ‘legends’ to Merseyside with Edgar Davids, Belletti and Luis García amongst some of the iconic names.
