This weekend the Liverpool Feds are back in action as they look to edge closer to the Women’s National League Division One North title as they take on Newcastle United Women at Druid Park.

The Feds are in magnificent form, losing only one game in the league all season, and even though they trail Newcastle by four points, they do have two games in hand and Sunday’s match will give them a chance to close the gap to one point.

Newcastle are in great form themselves, having the same record as the Feds but drawing one more game.

It means that the two sides are fighting for the title and the one promotion place up for grabs to the Premier Division next season.

Led by captain Chantelle Thompson, the Feds have many scoring threats, with striker Paige Cole and new signing Beth Donoghue chipping in as the whole team have this season.

They have also been helped massively by keeper Rachel Darbyshire, who has kept nine clean sheets in the 16 league games played so far this season.

The two teams clash this Sunday at Druid Park in Newcastle with kick off at 2pm.
