For many people, sticking to New Year’s resolutions is harder than starting them. The second Friday of each year, commonly known as ‘Quitters Day’, is the common speedbump for when that optimism at the start of the year begins to fade.
Quitters Day took off in 2019 after Strava dug into early-year activity data and noticed a clear pattern. By the second Friday of January, commitment dips, progress slows, and roughly 80% of people end up abandoning their resolutions altogether.
This could be for a multitude of reasons, yet the silent killer is not laziness, and a lack of motivation, but a sense of not knowing where to go.
