The chairman of Sefton women’s Cricket Club has revealed they now have to turn away new members because of a surge in recent demand.

Mersey Sport Live reporter Ollie Wilmott spoke to Ciara O’Connor after their recent victory at the indoor Liverpool women’s cricket qualifying.

Ahead of finals day, O’Connor revealed they are in a strong position for the upcoming season thanks to the increased participation they have seen over the winter.

Former Sky Sports Cricket Correspondent Tim Abraham also commented on the current state of women’s cricket in the UK and how it can grow.
