Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was complementary of West Ham United ahead of his side clash against the Irons.

Liverpool lost their last game 2-0 against Merseyside rivals Everton in midweek as they slipped to third place in the league.

His side come into this game three points behind Arsenal and two behind Man City who have a game in hand.

Klopp was complimentary towards West Ham manager David Moyes ahead of the game.

The German said: “I don’t have time to speak to David Moyes too much but we speak at games and I like him and he is doing a great job, it’s a really talented team, good transfers.”

Klopp was complimentary of Moyes’ squad with winger Jarrod Bowen particularly impressing the Liverpool manager.

He said: “Bowen is one my favourite players.

“Lucas Paqueta is super-talented, Antonio is a top striker. When Bowen is up there they find a solution. Ward-Prowse, super signing for West Ham.”

Klopp on title aspiration

The German is still focusing on winning the league despite his side’s disadvantaged position.

He said: “Did anyone expect us to become champions at the start of the season? No, but it developed in this direction.

“It is very good, but because we were so close, we are very, very disappointed in this moment in time. We cannot change that.”
