Chester FC travel to face King’s Lynn Town tomorrow in a bid to maintain momentum and end their struggles in the National League North.

Pressure has been mounting on the team as last-minute goals from them –  and their opponents – has led to draws in three of their past six league games.

Despite this, they have only lost four of their 19 games this season, with nine draws and six wins leaving them 11th in the table, three points of a playoff spot.

Chester also faced significant criticism when they exited the FA Trophy after a home loss to non-league side Clitheroe, a performance which was followed by a loss in the league.

Over the past two games Chester have picked up their form, scoring two first half goals last weekend to send themselves ahead against Spennymoor Town before the game was suspended just before the hour mark due to heavy rain.

They built on this performance in their last game with a 3-1 win away at Radcliffe, where they sent themselves ahead in just six minutes.

The National League North table has been close since the start of the season, with the team’s battling for playoffs and team’s avoiding relegation separated by just 10 points.

Dependant on results around the rest of the league a win for Chester could pull them up into eighth, and a win for King’s Lynn could send them into ninth.

Chester sit four places ahead of 15th placed King’s Lynn, yet are only two points ahead of their opponents.

King’s Lynn have lost six games and drawn seven, coming into this weekend’s game off their sixth win of the season over Oxford City.

Neither team has lost in their last five league fixtures, with both recording three wins and two draws.

The last match up between the two teams came on the final day of last season, when Chester emerged with a 3-0 victory.
