Liverpool saw off Sparta Prague with ease under the lights at Anfield as they hammered them 11-2 on aggregate in their Europa League round of 16.
Already 5-1 up after the away leg, the Reds increased their advantage after just seven minutes last night.
Darwin Nunez thumped in the opener from the centre of the box, to make it 1-0 on the night.
And just moments later, Bobby Clark celebrated his first goal for Liverpool when Sparta coughed up possession far too easily once more near their own box.
The left foot of Mo Salah made it 3-0 after just 10 minutes when the high press forced another defensive error by the visitors.
And Liverpool completed a stunning opening 15 minutes when Salah crossed the ball into the box where Cody Gakpo was lurking to fire home.
To their credit, Sparta Prague worked their way into the game.
Quazim Laci’s shot from outside the box was saved by Caoimhin Kelleher.
And then in the 41st minute, Veljko Birmancevic grabbed a consolation as he forced the ball over the line.
In the second half, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp made changes to rest key players as Harvey Elliott replaced Nunez, Kostas Tsmikias came on for Joe Gomez, and James McConnell replaced Wataru Endo.
Dominik Szoboszlai scored Liverpool’s fifth early in the second half, with a deflected shot inside the box to make it 10-2 on aggregate.
And towards the end Conor Bradley laid the ball back to Elliott just outside the box, and he curled a strike past the keeper for 6-1.
Replays shows Gakpo had flicked the ball as he flew past and later claimed the goal.
Virgil van Dijk replaced Jarrell Quansah late on, after the youngster had been booked.
And another youngster Mateusz Musialowski came on for his European debut replacing Bobby Clarke.
Gakpo thought he’d completed a hat-trick in the 89th minute, but his effort was ruled out by a late offside flag.
