Liverpool struck late gold, after Sadio Mane scored the winning goal in the 94th minute.

The Villans took the lead in the 21st minute through Mahmoud Trezeguet after a free kick was sent flying into the visitors box by John McGinn and met on the receiving end by the Egyptian.

Liverpool started piling the pressure on with chance after chance but today looked like it could be the day the Reds finally get beaten.

Great chances fell to all of their star forwards, with Salah and Mane squandering most opportunities.

VAR was questioned once again, after what seemed to be the equaliser for Liverpool in the 28th minute as Roberto Firmino tapped in a ball from Mane, but it was ruled offside.

The second half saw more of the same, Liverpool piling on the pressure and taking shot after shot but unable to break through Villa’s strong defensive block.

The 87th minute proved to be the breaking point after Senegal’s Sadio Mane found Andrew Robertson with a cross into the Villans box and the Scotsman managed to pull one back for the visitors.

Liverpool looked like they missed the opportunity to win the game after a 93rd minute free kick was just blocked by Villa’s defence, but the perseverance to keep on going until the last blow of the whistle once again got the Reds through.

Sadio Mane struck gold with a last minute header following a cross from Trent Alexander Arnold via a corner. Liverpool once again didn’t give up and remain undefeated.
