Liverpool FC Women make the trip down to an inform Chelsea tonight with the hope of progressing to the quarterfinal of the FA Cup.

The Reds will be hopeful of advancing to the next round after being just the second team to take points off the blues in any league game this season. It will be a big ask for the second bottom team as Chelsea have won their last eight games.

Since they last met:

In the previous round, Liverpool demolished Blackburn 8-1 with four goals from Babajide, whilst Chelsea defeated Charlton 4-0. In the league, the Reds have only claimed one win of three since their visit to Chelsea but have been victims to adverse weather conditions postponing two matches. Chelsea, have comfortably won every game since, scoring a frightening amount of goals in the process, with 31 in eight games in all competitions.

Last time out Vicky Jepson’s side showed promising signs of improvement, as they were just pipped 3-2 by WSL giants Arsenal. The young Rinsola Babajide used her pace to score two against the defending champions and inspire hope to her struggling side.

Liverpool will have made most of the extra rest as the initial cup-tie was scheduled for Sunday. The suspension of the game is another blow for LFC as they lost out on the coverage being shown on BBC Red button, IPlayer and online. The reds have faced a brunt of storm Ciara and storm Dennis as the eagerly awaited first ever derby at Goodison was postponed, as well as their clash with United.
