The coronavirus pandemic is having a huge impact on the world of sport – none more so than boxing.

Blane Hyland, is an undefeated boxer from Liverpool.

He fights for MTK Global, a promotional boxing team who recently cancelled all their shows due to the lockdown.

Hyland explained his frustrations during this difficult time.

“The postponement of boxing shows is hard for everyone whether it’s the fighters, promoters or managers,” he told Merseysportlive.

“The beginning of the lockdown didn’t really affect me as I had boxed just before, therefore I was going to rest anyway until the next camp.”

Hyland said he has been managing to stay productive in quarantine, and urged everyone to be patient and support the NHS.
