Neal and Ken Skupski will face a stern test as they face Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares at the Mexican Open quarter finals in Acapulco.

The match, which will pit Neal Skupski against his former partner Jamie Murray, begins Friday night at 01:20 GMT.

To reach this stage the Merseyside duo had dispatched world number nine singles player Diego Schwartzman and his partner João Sousa 6-4, 7-6 in the round of 16.

Their upcoming opponents Murray and Soares beat Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi 6-7, 6-2, 10-1 to advance to the Quarter finals.

However, Skupski and Murray didn’t have the success that was anticipated as they failed to breakthrough at Grand Slam level.

They did win a title as they claimed the Sofia Open in 2020 courtesy of a walkover victory.

Having won two Grand Slam titles and reuniting in 2021, Murray and Soares are ranked as the number two seed in the tournament.

If the Liverpool-born brothers can beat Murray and Soares they will have a real shot at winning the tournament.

Unfortunately for the players, the Mexican Open prize money has shrunk due to the coronavirus pandemic.

For the men’s doubles it currently stands at £22,000, which is 73% less than this time last year.
