Merseyside Nighthawk players, Matt O’Connell, Paul Cowan and Laurent Tshimanga have been selected for the Great British American Football team.
Five players were involved in the selection process by the national team but only three were successful in gaining a place. They met with the GB squad last weekend for their first session as a Lion.
Cowan said: “I was ecstatic when i got the call, I really wasn’t expecting it.”
With GB training in full swing, all players are working hard in preparation for their first game against France.
O’Connell said: “The way we got told was a phone call with the coach and he made me sweat on the phone.”
