A Merseyside football club chairman says non-league sides are living hand-to-mouth because of the sharp rise in the cost of living, which has almost immediately followed the covid pandemic.

Don Rimmer from Litherland REMYCA FC has led the club through tough times, but hopes rising ticket prices at Liverpool will lead fans to his club.

Describing the club’s position near other grassroots clubs, Rimmer spoke of the struggles of trying to get fans through the gate.
