An Merseyside organidsation that helps children with autism access sport has received a funding boost from Alder Hey hospital.

Autism Adventures Training is an initiative set up by Julie Simpson due to a lack of sporting options for children with autism. Simpson spent years trying to find somewhere to take her autistic child to enjoy sport but the search came to no avail.

This prompted her to set up Autism Adventures Training. The organisation initially received £17,000 from the region’s Violence Reduction Partnership. Now, Alder Hey hospital is providing additional resources that could help fund the orgnisation for up to two years.
