OKTAGON 48 arrives in Manchester this weekend for a UK debut show with four fighters with links to Merseyside fighting on the card.

Next Gen MMA’s rising star Shem Rock is taking on fierce rival Jaroslav Pokorny in one of the most anticipated bouts of the night. The fight has come full circle after Rock went on the run for 10 years over a crime he didn’t commit to now facing a former police officer in the cage.

Lee ‘The Butcher’ Chadwick will step into the octagon for the last fight of his career against Zdenek Polivka. The Butcher will be looking to finish the fight early to add to his resume of 17 first round finishes, before hanging up his gloves.

Scouse comedian Paul Smith is making his MMA debut in the finale of Channel 4’s ‘Stage to the Cage’ against reality TV star Jake Quickenden.

Both fighters have been on a year long journey to prepare themselves for the bout. Smith has stated that he will be donating his entire fight purse to the Liverpool based charity Weapons Down, Gloves Up.

Aaron Aby is fighting Elias Garcia for the first Flyweight Title in the history of OKTAGON MMA. Aby is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under The MMA Academy in Liverpool. Garcia is the toughest opponent he has faced so far in his career having never lost a fight outside of the UFC.
