Tranmere Rovers beat Forest Green Rovers 3-0 at Prenton Park to leapfrog their opponents out of the relegation zone.
It only took until the eighth minute for the home side to take the lead after Jordan Turnbull connected with a floated corner from Regan Hendry. The centre-back leapt to head goalwards and following a significant deflection off Tyrese Omotoye, it made its way into the back of the net and went down as an own goal.
8' | Jordan heads in the corner to put Rovers ahead!
It might have taken a touch off Omotoye on the way in so could go down as an own goal but we're ahead either way!

The Forest Green forward had a chance to make amends later in the half but failed after his header was tipped wide spectacularly by the Superwhites’ goalkeeper, Luke McGee, from six yards out.
Not long after the half-time whistle was blown, an encounter with referee Ed Duckworth saw Troy Deeney get booked for dissent as the teams headed into the tunnel.

The Birkenhead side started the second half in a similar fashion to the first as they doubled their lead in the 47th minute. Connor Jennings intercepted a loose pass in the opposition’s final third and gave it to Kristian Dennis who coolly slotted into the bottom left corner from just outside the box.

Forest Green’s poor fortune continued as Dom Bernard was sent off for a second yellow for a deliberate handball inside his own half.
With Nigel Adkins’ side a man up, it was a matter of time before they added a third. It came in the 71st minute after a sensational run from Rob Apter which ended with the winger cutting into the box on his left foot and stroking it home, low to James Belshaw’s right.

Tranmere were unlucky not to extend their lead as both Luke Norris and substitute Dan Pike struck the post in the second period.
Norris had to exit the field in the 75th minute after going down injured. The blow will be sure to cause concern amongst the Tranmere fans as the striker has already missed the majority of the season through injury.
The win sees the home side move out of the drop zone on goal difference, however Forest Green are level on points with a game in hand.
Tranmere’s next game comes in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday 14 November, when they will host Wigan Athletic.
