St Helens ace Michael Smith faces Luke Littler in Rotterdam tomorrow night on Night 12 of the PDC Premier League Darts.

Smith currently sits fifth in the table following a semi-final defeat to Michael van Gerwen last week in Birmingham.

The Merseyside man is chasing a play-off spot – which the top four qualify for – with just five nights left to make up the ground.

He will have to overcome teenage sensation Luke Littler, who leads the league and has won 30 more legs than Smith over the campaign so far – he also won Night 11 last time out.

Smith does have recent form against the youngster, having defeated him on Night 7 and 8 in Brighton and Dublin respectively.

He also defeated Littler on route to his Night 1 victory in Cardiff.

The other fixtures in the first round of Night 12 feature Rob Cross facing Gerwyn Price, Peter Wright taking on Nathan Aspinall and van Gerwen taking on world number one Luke Humphries.

Wright, who is struggling with just two match wins so far this year, will need to find some form to help Smith out and beat fourth-placed Aspinall.

Humphries and van Gerwen may provide the headline clash, with the two placed second and third respectively.

Dutchman van Gerwen will be out to make history in his home country, hoping to add to his already league-leading four night wins and break the record for the most night wins in a single season of the Premier League.

Humphries will provide a tough challenge with three night wins and one more matches won than “Mighty Mike” with 14.
