Everton women travel to Villa Park on Sunday with both teams hoping to pick up just their second win of the season. 

The teams meet for the first time this season with Aston Villa also looking to right the wrongs from a slow start. 

The match is shaping up to be a crucial one for both sides as they both aim to climb the table. Everton sit in 10th place in the WSL and Villa are eighth. 

The Toffees come into the fixture this weekend with one win one draw and four losses after a disappointing start to the season under manager Brian Sorensen. 

Aston villa head into this match the favourites having the home advantage and also on the back of a much needed win in the League Cup.  

The Villains do also have one win this season and a game in hand to be played against Liverpool, who currently sit 11th. 

The Toffees were able to take home three points on their last trip to Villa Park after an 80th-minute winner from Aurora Galli. 

The Blues  have been able to get the better of Villa on the road as well, as their last five visits to Birmingham have resulted in five wins. 

Villa star Lucia Kendall shone in her appearances over the international break picking up a player of the match award, definitely a player to look out for as we head into the fixture this weekend. 

Ornella Vignola is another player to look out for as she has impressed since signing for Everton after scoring a hattrick in her debut.

She has been a key player, creating big chances for the team. 

A win for the Blues would see them rise from 10th to eighth place and could turn out to be pivotal moment in the season. 

Meanwhile the a win  for the Claret and Blues could see them climb to sixth place in the table, and with their game in hand they could climb further.
