From racehorses to reindeer, Aintree swapped hooves for running shoes as it played host to a festive race for the day.
With fewer than ten days to go until Christmas, the festive spirit was well and truly in the air as the racecourse hosted its annual December half marathon, complete with a seasonal twist.
Despite the typically bleak December weather, hundreds of runners turned out for the gruelling event, including participants raising funds for St Joseph’s Hospice, the race’s primary charity partner.
