Through the Paralympic sport of boccia, Alan Scott has helped unite communities across Merseyside.

From Norris Green to Speke, the 34-year-old runs several groups that encourage people of all ages and abilities to play against one another, breaking down barriers.

Due to the winter conditions, this group in Fazakerley had a few less participants than usual, but that didn’t stop these three ladies.

They have been attending Scott’s sessions for the last two and a half years. After the Covid-19 pandemic, many groups were closed due to low numbers, but they found this one gathered people back together.

Scott’s charity, Enable You, was recognised as an affiliate of Boccia England last summer and continues to expand their growth across the region. Charlie Sangha reports.
