Liverpool manager Arne Slot believes his Liverpool side “always want to entertain.”

His side take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday whilst sitting three points off the top four of the Premier League.

Slot said: “it will never be about us if the game isn’t entertaining, we always want to entertain.

“We don’t always succeed in that but it’s mainly because the teams we are facing don’t want an entertaining game.

“I would do the same if I had to play Liverpool.”

After Saturday’s win against Brighton, the Reds have now only lost twice in their last 19 matches in all competitions and the boss believes the improvement is down to two simple reasons.

Slot said: “We are fitter than months ago and we are much better at set pieces.”

Nottingham Forest play Fenerbahce tonight in the Europa League play-offs, in new manager Vitor Pereira’s first game.

Despite the new manager and a possible change in tactics, Slot insists he “knows what to expect” when playing Forest.

When asked about having a few days off this week, Slot said it was nice and useful but insisted he “didn’t need it.”

He said: “I’m enjoying the work I do over here, I enjoy working with the players and the staff.”

Slot on injuries

Slot confirmed that Wataru Endo will be side-lined for a “long time” after the injury he picked up away at Sunderland.

He hopes that fellow Dutchman Jeremie Frimpong will be involved next week.

Joe Gomez has now been deemed fit and ready to start.

Slot on Vinicius Jr

Slot also commented on the alleged racist abuse towards Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr on Tuesday.

He said: “I think in general you can never do enough, you can always do more, you should always try to do more, so this doesn’t happen again.

“I think we have to try as a football community to do more than society does.”
