More than 200 young Everton fans joined Everton in the Community’s first Junior Sleepout at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
A total of 266 participants spent the night on the concourse, raising more than £20,000 for the Home Is Where The Heart Is programme, which supports young people at risk of homelessness across the Liverpool City Region.
Since starting in 2016, the Stadium Sleepout has grown into a flagship event, with supporters raising nearly £500,000 to support hundreds of young people.
It sits within a broader range of more than 60 schemes delivered by Everton in the Community (EitC), supporting tens of thousands of people across the region each year.
This programme specifically provides both residential and outreach support, including a four-bedroom house in the L4 area offering semi-independent accommodation for young adults.
Alongside a safe place to stay, participants receive tailored wraparound support, including help with education, employment, finances, mental health and essential life skills to transition into independent living.
Everton in the Community fundraising manager Sarah Hunter said: “The idea and the concept behind it is that it mimics what it is like to be homeless, and all the money raised goes to our ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ programme, which supports vulnerable young people across the Liverpool City Region.”
EitC’s CEO Sue Gregory said: “What a memorable night for Everton in the Community and the hundreds of young Blues who took part in the first Junior Sleepout at the new stadium.”
The next sleepout, marking the event’s 10th anniversary, will take place on 2–3 October 2026, with registration available here.
Reflecting on this, Sue added: “This October will welcome the 10th edition of our adult Sleepout, and we are so excited to celebrate the milestone.”
