Manchester Mayhem Para Ice Hockey is doing its bit to help people interested in the sport of hockey feel included.
As the only Paralympic Ice Hockey club in the North West, it offers something different for those willing to give it a try.
The rink is accessible to all, and the experienced staff can help those with different levels or disabilities or help them adapt anything to suit requirements.
Training is based at Planet Ice Widnes, whilst league games are played in Altrincham.
The squad currently includes players from nine years old to those in their 50s, male and female players, able-bodied and disabled players who all have different backgrounds and stories to tell.
Jayden Thomason, a player who’s given it a go, said: “I couldn’t make it often because of commitments but when I did I always had a really great time.
“The staff are amazing, it’s a welcoming culture.
“It’s something I would definitely recommend to anyone whose unsure or perhaps is a bit apprehensive about joining a club.
“I’ll be the first to admit I wasn’t very good, but that’s not what matters, what matters is that everyone felt comfortable and had a fun time whenever we played.”
Training in Widnes takes place every other Thursday for those interested.
