Liverpool have been handed a potential boost ahead of their all-important Premier League against Arsenal tomorrow night as Klopp confirmed that Salah will return to training.
The major concern in the build up to the game at the Emirates tomorrow was that Liverpool’s talisman may be unavailable after suffering a foot injury against Brighton last weekend.
However, Klopp said this morning that Salah is returning to training today and is contention to be involved tomorrow.
He said: “Most likely [he’ll be involved], Mo is a tough cookie and we were quite lucky with it.
“Yesterday[his foot] was less swollen, now I’ve got a message only before this press conference that Mo is ready to train and we will see how that looks.”
Klopp admitted he was surprised by Manchester City dropping points in the title race last night against Crystal Palace but he doesn’t believe it has changed the mood in the squad ahead of the Arsenal game.
He said: “Why should it? We play Arsenal, we are still 4 points behind and I don’t know how you can count points away, it’s maybe easy for you but it’s 4 points and we have to play this game.
“But as you know, if you want to achieve something in this Premier League and you are not top of the table, you need to win all your games and you need the other teams to drop points.”
Klopp was also under no illusions that Arsenal will be tough opponents after the Gunners’ impressive run which has put them in the driving seat for 4th spot.
He said: “I know how good Arsenal is at the moment and we shouldn’t think about the defensive record we have, we should think about our defensive record for this game to defend them.
“We have to be in a really good moment because they are doing well as well, they are much more rested than we are. We are in a very intense period, since we last played, we’ve played 12 games, they’ve played 6.
“It’s a tough one tomorrow night but we are still looking forward to it.”
💬 "We have the right level of confidence, belief and understanding with each other and everything clicks better and quicker."

Klopp continued to heap praise on Mikel Areta’s Arsenal side, saying: “Mikel is obviously doing an incredible job there and you can really see week by week, month by month, the development they are doing there and it’s really impressive.
“Arsenal have a clear idea how they want to play. Young, full of talent, full of joy, experienced striker with Lacazette and three very exciting young boys.”
“We have to be ready but we will be ready.”
Finally, Merseysportlive questioned Klopp about how impressed he has been with Luis Diaz so in far in regards to his quick adjustment to English football.
In response, Klopp said: “Yes, it’s good. It’s fine we speak about these kind of things, he’s been here a few weeks.
“An incredibly good start, his age, stage of his career, he can improve a lot.
“It’s just cool how he’s settled as a boy and a player. Our part was we scouted the right boy.”
Whether Salah is fit enough to start tomorrow remains to be seen, but with the signing of Luis Diaz, (who Klopp already trusts immensely) the importance of Salah’s availability is less significant than it was a few months ago.
