Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has expressed his frustrations on X this week as he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, following Jack Grealish and David Moyes voicing their concerns after the Merseyside Derby.

Where do Everton rank for fouls and yellow cards?
Everton rank joint second with Bournemouth for yellow cards, despite the Cherries committing seventeen fouls more than Moyes’ side, which has obviously caused frustration for the Toffees.

Brighton are the only side to have received more bookings than Everton, despite 27 more fouls, and Fulham with 28 more, have one less booking, which will ultimately be incredibly irritating for Moyes.
Only Liverpool, Burnley, Manchester City and Sunderland have committed less fouls than the Toffees, yet only their Merseyside rivals also have double digits for yellow cards of these teams.
Are fouls Everton’s biggest discipline issue?
With 37.5% of Everton’s bookings coming from situations other than fouls, the picture starts to become clearer on how they have picked up so many despite a low count for fouls.

With the growing dissent for referees brewing at Hill Dickinson Stadium, it seems unlikely that the yellow cards will slow down as the players will be far more likely to argue with the officials as they feel hard done by.
Half of Everton’s bookings have come from Dewsbury-Hall and Tim Iroegbunam, making it increasingly evident as to why the former’s outburst came this week on social media.

Dewsbury-Hall’s last two yellow cards have been at the very least contentious, with one given for taking a free kick too quickly, and the other for a foul where he seemed to win the ball against West Ham.
With the midfielder now suspended, Moyes will be upset to lose one of his best players this season, as they take on unbeaten Crystal Palace on Sunday, looking to get back to winning ways.
Could this help Everton?
Everton have shown in the past that they can perform very well when under siege mentality, using the upset from the refereeing decisions to bolster the team unity and the fans support.
With multiple star players and Moyes himself coming out and questioning the referees, it gives Everton fans more reason to get behind their team, and it gives the team more reasons to go out there and put in good performances.
Having already started well, despite a bump in the road in the last three league games, this could be just what they need to get back on track, especially with the added quality in their side.
