St Helens darts star Michael Smith returns for the first night of the 2022 Premier League tonight (February 3). "Bully Boy" Smith will make his anticipated return to the competition after missing out last year.

Merseysider Stephen Bunting was knocked out of the semi-final of the World Grand Prix by World Number One Gerwyn Price. Bunting fell short in the semi-final despite taking a lead against Price, who lost the final to fellow Welshman Jonny Clayton.

A huge 135-finish in the final leg saw Dave Chisnall defeat Ross Smith in the World Grand Prix 4th round. Chisnall, ranked 10th by the PDC, came out on top at the Morningside Arena.

Merseyside darts ace Stephen Bunting swept aside Daryl Gurney with a 2-0 win at the World Grand Prix in Leicester. Bunting, a former semi-finalist who missed out last year after testing positive for Covid, produced the outstanding performance of the day.

Merseyside trio Dave Chisnall, Michael Smith and Stephen Bunting had mixed fortunes in the 2021 UK Open. St Helens-born Chisnall battled his way to the quarter-final while Smith and Bunting crashed out in the fifth and fourth round respectively.
